Welcome to Life In Check.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of lifeincheck.online, your interactions with Life In Check, and, where applicable, your participation in Life In Check programs and services.
By accessing our website, scheduling a call, enrolling a child in services, purchasing services, or otherwise using Life In Check, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
Life In Check provides online chess instruction for children.
Our instructional approach is designed to teach children chess while deliberately creating opportunities for them to practice thinking, planning, decision-making, problem-solving, persistence, self-control, and related thinking habits through the game.
Life In Check is not primarily an elite tournament academy, chess-rating acceleration program, or professional title-development program.
Life In Check serves children, but our website, scheduling, enrollment, purchasing, and contractual relationship are intended to be handled by a parent or legal guardian.
By scheduling a call, enrolling a child, purchasing services, or otherwise acting on behalf of a child, you represent that:
You are at least 18 years old
You are the child’s parent, legal guardian, or otherwise legally authorized to make decisions on the child’s behalf
The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge
You have authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the participating child
Children may not independently purchase Life In Check services.
Life In Check may offer a free introductory call to learn about your child, their interest in chess, prior experience, and whether Life In Check may be a good fit.
If your child already knows how to play chess, we may ask them to participate in part of the call for a brief live assessment of their current understanding and foundation.
Such assessments are intended solely to help Life In Check determine an appropriate starting point.
They are not:
Formal chess ratings
Tournament certifications
Educational, psychological, or medical evaluations
Guarantees of future chess performance
Guarantees of admission or enrollment
Scheduling or completing a free call does not obligate you to purchase services and does not obligate Life In Check to accept a student.
Enrollment is subject to availability, fit, scheduling, and any additional terms presented at the time of enrollment.
Specific services may include individual instruction, group instruction, assessments, learning materials, online resources, or other educational offerings.
Life In Check may determine that a child is not an appropriate fit for a particular program or may recommend a different starting point based on the child’s existing experience.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service where reasonably necessary, including where:
The service is not an appropriate fit for the student
A participant repeatedly disrupts instruction
Payment obligations are not met
A parent, guardian, or student engages in abusive, threatening, fraudulent, or inappropriate conduct
Continued participation would materially interfere with the experience of other students or instructors
Any prepaid amounts affected by a discontinuation initiated by Life In Check will be handled according to the applicable enrollment or purchase terms and applicable law.
Prices, billing arrangements, payment schedules, cancellation rules, rescheduling policies, refund terms, package expiration terms, and other commercial conditions will be disclosed when you purchase or enroll in a Life In Check service.
Those purchase or enrollment terms are incorporated into these Terms.
If specific written enrollment or purchase terms conflict with these general Terms regarding payment, scheduling, cancellations, refunds, or service delivery, the more specific enrollment or purchase terms will control.
You are responsible for providing accurate and current payment information where payment is required.
Failure to make required payments may result in suspension or termination of services.
Life In Check primarily provides instruction online.
You are responsible for providing, as reasonably necessary:
A compatible computer, tablet, or device
A reliable internet connection
Any required video-conferencing software or browser access
A suitable location for the child to participate
Any chess equipment or materials identified as necessary for a lesson
Life In Check cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to third-party internet, telecommunications, video-conferencing, or technology services.
If a lesson is materially interrupted by a technical problem, the resolution will depend on the circumstances and any applicable scheduling or service policy.
Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether Life In Check is appropriate for their child.
Participants are expected to:
Treat instructors and other students respectfully
Participate in good faith
Avoid intentionally disruptive behavior
Use Life In Check technology and materials appropriately
Follow reasonable instructional and safety directions
Parents remain responsible for the supervision, safety, and welfare of their children while participating in online services.
Life In Check does not assume physical custody or supervision of children merely because a child is attending an online lesson.
Life In Check creates structured opportunities for children to learn and practice.
However, every child develops differently.
We do not guarantee:
A particular chess rating
Tournament success
Trophies, titles, or competitive results
A particular academic outcome
A specific improvement within a particular period
Increased intelligence
Psychological, behavioral, or educational transformation
Any specific life outcome
Student progress may depend on many factors, including participation, practice, engagement, age, prior experience, individual development, attendance, and circumstances outside Life In Check’s control.
Life In Check does not claim that chess automatically produces broader cognitive or developmental benefits.
Our broader instructional goals arise from how the game is taught and practiced, not from simply playing chess.
Life In Check provides chess instruction and educational experiences.
We do not provide:
Medical treatment
Mental-health treatment
Psychological assessment
Therapy
Special-education diagnosis
Academic diagnosis
Professional healthcare advice
Nothing on our website or in our programs should be interpreted as a substitute for advice or services from appropriately qualified professionals.

By enrolling a child in Life In Check, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and consents to the recording of the child’s participation in Life In Check sessions, including the child’s image and voice.
Depending on the Life In Check membership selected, members may receive access to recordings of their student’s sessions for personal review and continued learning. Recording access, availability, retention periods, and other applicable conditions may vary by membership.
Session recordings may contain proprietary Life In Check curriculum, instructional methods, exercises, and other protected materials. Recordings provided to members are for the student’s and household’s personal educational use only and may not be publicly posted, redistributed, sold, reproduced for commercial purposes, or shared outside the household without prior written permission from Life In Check.
Life In Check will not use identifiable recordings of a child for advertising, promotional, testimonial, or other public-facing purposes without separate authorization from the child’s parent or legal guardian.
While Life In Check intends to record all instructional sessions, we cannot guarantee that every recording will be successfully created or remain available due to technical failures, platform interruptions, file corruption, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If you voluntarily provide feedback, reviews, testimonials, photographs, videos, or other materials, Life In Check will not publicly use identifiable promotional material involving you or your child unless we have appropriate permission to do so.
Where permission is granted, the scope of permitted use may be governed by a separate release or authorization.
